Hazar Lankaran manager Oguz Cetin resigns [divider]

Oğuz Çetin has resigned from his position as manager of Azerbaijan league side Hazar Lankaran.

Çetin was capped 70 times for the Turkey at international level and represented the Crescent-Stars at the 1996 UEFA European Championship.

The 51-year-old coach became assistant manager for Fenerbahçe in 2002 and later took charge of Gençlerbirliği and Diyarbakırspor.

Çetin signed a one year deal with Azerbaijani football team Khazar Lankaran in June, 2014 but has resigned sooner than expected after a disagreement over the direction the board wanted to take the club in.

Hazar Lankaran are currently fifth in the league with 20 points.

The club is owned by billionaire founder of the Palmali Group, Mubariz Gurbanoğlu Mansimov.

Masimov is also a citizen of Turkey with close ties to Beşiktaş and Kasımpaşa.
