Netherlands national team manager Guus Hiddink has revealed that he is looking forward to an intense game against Turkey.

Hiddink also underlined that he is familiar with the Crescent-Stars having previously coached the Turkish national side.

“I expect a tough and intense game. I have worked at Turkey, Sneijder plays there, Turkey midfielder Colin Kazim-Richards plays at Feyenoord. These are all things that give extra motivation,” Hiddink told Goal.

Hiddink coached Turkey between 2010-12 but resigned after failing to qualify for Euro 2012.

The experienced manager revealed that he expects a tough game against Turkey but that he is also looking forward to the encounter.

“But that doesn’t mean we just want to fight them. I like matches that are intense, but in these matches we can also show that we can play good football,” he added.

The Netherlands are currently third in Euro 2016 qualification Group A with six points from four games, while Turkey sit fourth with four points after four games.

A loss for either side could end their chances of qualification and result in a managerial change.
