Holland pin hopes on Man Utd star Memphis Depay & Sneijder ahead of key Turkey clash

The Netherlands suffered a shock 1-0 defeat against Iceland in their Euro 2016 Group A qualifier yesterday.

The defeat was the Dutch sides second ever home defeat at the Euro qualification campaign stage.

Meanwhile Turkey drew 1-1 with Latvia to move within one point of the Dutch side and happen to be playing the Netherlands next.

The Dutch suffered an injury blow to Arjen Robben who is expected to miss the next game against Turkey at the Konya Torku Arena.

The absence of Robben leaves Galatasaray star Wesley Sneijder, Fenerbahçe striker Robin van Persie and young Manchester United winger Memphis Depay as the teams standout players.

Depay and Sneijder both started against Iceland but Van Persie was left on the bench against Iceland despite being in good form for the Yellow Canaries with two goals and an assist for the Istanbul giants.

Sneijder has two goals in four appearances for the Lions and the experienced playmaker has created 18 chances from open play in the Euro 2016 qualifiers with only Switzerland international Xherdan Shaqiri.

Meanwhile Depay has two goals and two assists for United in the Champions League qualifiers.
