Liverpool youngster Jordan Ibe’s returned to first-team football on Monday night in the 2-0 win over Newcastle United in the Premier League.

Ibe has been battling for regular first team football this season and could get the nod in the FA Cup semi-final against Reading on the weekend.

The 19-year-old took on Emre Can in a ‘little battle’ during training today and shared the picture on his Instagram account.

Emre Can has as many nicknames as pronunciations of his surname but they generally revolve around his combative style of football.

The Rolls Royce, the Tank, whatever your preferred nickname for Can his physical presence has helped the Liverpool back-three this season.

Can actually signed for the Reds as a midfielder but has since adapted to his defensive role in the team.

Liverpool face Tim Sherwood’s Aston Villa side in the weekend’s second FA Cup semi-final at Wembley.

Ibe has made eight appearances for the Reds in all competitions following his return from a loan at Derby County.
