Mesut Ozil has claimed that he is more alike to his former Real Madrid teammate Cristiano Ronaldo than most people would expect.
The 27-year-old has stated that he is equally as ambitions as Ronaldo and that like the Portugal star, he is also a perfectionist.
“Cristiano Ronaldo is obviously very ambitious, but so am I,” Ozil told L’Equipe.
“I am a perfectionist on the pitch as well. I want to be successful with everything I do.”
Both Ozil and Ronaldo are both competing in this summers Euro 2016 tournament. The Real Madrid superstar has two goals in four games and awaits Wales in the Semi finals.
Ozil has stated all four games so far and provided an assist for his sides second goal against the Ukraine in their opening game. The 27-year-old is once again expected to be included in Joachim Low’s starting line-up which takes on Italy in the quarter finals.
