Image: Arsenal star enjoys extended break having Turkish feast with Man City summer signing

Arsenal star Mesut Ozil enjoyed an extended break after his Euro 2016 campaign which resulted in him joining up with the squad later than his teammates for pre-season training.

Ozil missed the opening game of the season against Liverpool and his absence was sorely missed as the Gunners ended up losing 4-3 at the Emirates.

There are still concerns over Ozil’s fitness and his extended break may end up lasting even longer than expected as head coach Arsene Wenger contemplates whether to risk him against Premier League champions Leicester City on the weekend.

While Wenger decides what to do Ozil has been busy enjoying himself at his favourite local Turkish restaurant.

Ozil even invited fellow Germany born ethnic Turk Ilkay Gundogan down all the way from Manchester.

The duo along with a few friends enjoyed a feast by the looks of his most recent Instagram post.

We can spot a huge pide bread in foreground accompanied by some börek (pastry dishes) and starters (meze).

Gundogan will miss City’s clash against Stoke City on Saturday due to injury and he may want to lay off on all the food. As delicious as it is he probably wants to avoid getting packing on a few extra pounds.
