Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has been closely linked with a move to Turkey over the past few weeks but an injury he sustained yesterday could rule out a summer move.

Leiva suffered an injury in the 2-0 victory over Huddersfield last night according to the Daily Star.

Reds boss Jurgen Klopp revealed that he is unsure how severe the injury is and that Lucas will need to undergo further assessment.

“We have to wait for the exact assessment,” he was quoted as saying.

Liverpool travel to the US next for the next part of their summer tour but it remains to be seen if Lucas will make the trip.

Galatasaray have been closely linked with Lucas who wants wants a guaranteed €3.5 million per-season contract from Galatasaray according to Fanatik.

The report states that the Istanbul giants have made Liverpool a €3 million offer for the Brazilian midfielder but want Lucas to lower his wage demands.

The Lions could however, face competition from Besiktas who are also plotting a move for the Brazilian midfielder.

The Black Eagles would be able to offer Lucas the added bonus of guaranteed Champions League football next season.
