‘Introverted’ Ozil is a game changer says Arsenal striker [divider]
Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud believes that teammate Mesut Özil is capable of being a game changer when he is confident.
“Özil, he’s quietly strong: he’s very calm, almost introverted, very at ease technically, and when his confidence is up, he makes the difference,” Giroud told TF1.
Giroud has 11 goals in 19 appearances for Arsenal this season and scored in the Gunners 2-1 win over Crystal Palace on the weekend.
The French striker joined Arsenal from Montpellier for £10.5 million in 2012 and has a total of 50 goals and 27 assists in 117 games for the Gunners in all competitions.
Arsenal take on Everton next weekend in the league but first host Monaco in the Champions league on Wednesday.
The Champions League first-leg quarter final game will be played at the Emirates.
Özil has scored twice and has provided three assists in his last four league outings since returning to match fitness following an injury that kept him on the sidelines for three months.
The World Cup winner has made 16 appearances for Arsenal this season in all competitions.
