İsmail Ertekin has resigned as Balıkesirspor manager following his sides 3-1 defeat at the hands of Sivasspor on Monday.
Balıkesirspor sit rock bottom at the foot of the Süper Lig with just five points from ten games.
The newly promoted sides only victory came against Galatasaray in week three.
İsmail Ertekin lead Balıkesirspor to promotion last season by winning the PTT Lig.1 and had been at the club since 2012.
Balıkesirspor released a statement on their official website confirming the resignation and thanking the manager for his services at the club.
“On 24.11.2014, following the 3-1 defeat to Sivasspor, our manager Ismail ERTEKİN handed in his resignation. The club have accepted the resignation.
“We would like to thank İsmail Ertekin on behalf of the local community for bringing success to the club and winning promotion to the Super League after a 39 year wait.”
Balıkesirspor travel to Kayseri Erciyesspor on Saturday.
