The former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has took to social media to react to a poll conducted by SkySports.

The Premier League broadcasters asked viewers who should win the PFA player of the year award. Ozil came out on top with 53% of the vote, far ahead of second placed Dimitri Payet with 13%.

Carragher posted the following tweet upon seeing the results.

The 27-year-old playmaker has provided the highest number of assists in the league this season (19) and would have had more had it not been for the profligacy of his teammates.

Ozil has also created the most chances in the league (122) but Arsenal have the lowest goal record in the top four.

Arsenal are currently third in the Premier League with 59 points in 32 games.

The Gunners host Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, kick-off is at 16:00 (GMT).
