Jurgen Klopp reveals he will ‘try to help’ Liverpool star Emre Can

Liverpool star Emre Can starred in his sides 4-1 win over Manchester City at the Etihad on the weekend but while head coach Jurgen Klopp was pleased with his performance he did highlight a couple of weaknesses to his game.

Klopp underlined that Can’s inexperience gets the better of him at times but that he would improve over time.

“Emre is a young lad, he’s full of emotion and everything but when you are tired in a game, then if you cannot make the way back, please don’t make the way forward,” he told NBC.

“He opened space sometimes but it’s no problem, that’s my work, I try to help, it’s not so easy from outside but when you win 4-1, everything is okay.”

The 21-year-old played in his favoured midfield position once again against City and received a rating of 7.39 from Whoscored.

The Germany international of Turkish origin made two key passes – one of which was an outrageous back-heel –  three dribbles and maintained a passing accuracy of 69%.

The Reds moved up to ninth place with 20 points in 13 games following yesterdays victory.

Liverpool take on Bordeaux in the Europa League on Thursday and then welcome Swansea City to Anfield next weekend in the Premier League.
