Karagümrükspor manager Ferruh Özgün believes his side can still qualify for the next round of the Turkish Cup despite losing 3-0 against Mersin.
“We planned to win the game and guarantee our place in the next round but things did not go to plan,” Özgün said.
“We conceded possession easily, gave our opposition a lot of space and made Mersin’s job a whole lot easier really.
“The first half ended with a draw and we only conceded in the second half because of stupid mistakes.
“This really is a tough group, everybody can make it other than Samsunspor.
“God willing we will beat Samsunspor and get a point against Bursaspor now, it would be a huge achievement.”
