Beşiktaş midfielder Veli Kavlak revealed that every player in the team raised their hand when asked if they want to take a penalty against Liverpool in the shoot-out.
Liverpool won the first leg of the Europa League Round of 32, 1-0 at Anfield.
Beşiktaş managed to force extra time at the end regulation time in the second-leg with the scores tied 1-1 on aggregate.
Neither side was able to break the deadlock in extra time and prevent the game heading into penalties.
“Then he [Bilic] asked: ‘Who wants to take one?’ and everybody raised their hand,” Kavlak told the official UEFA website.
Beşiktaş did not miss a single penalty. Demba Ba, Veli Kavlak, Gökhan Töre, Tolgay Arslan and Atiba Hutchinson all converted.
After nine successful penalties Dejan Lovren stepped up and blazed the ball over to give Beşiktaş the victory.
The win ensured that Beşiktaş maintained their unbeaten run against English opposition in European competition this season.
The Black Eagles will take on Belgium side Club Brugge in the Europa League Last 16 next.
