Kerim Frei praised the team sprit shown by Beşiktaş to come back from 1-0 down to beat Başakşehir 2-1.
“It was very important for us to respond in this manner following two league defeats,” Frei said.
“Now we are back on course and we showed great character and team spirit in the process.
“To come back from 1-0 down shows the level of our self belief.
“We fought hard to get back into the game, everybody on the team deserves credit and we were rewarded for our efforts.”
Frei suffered an injury towards the end of the game but revealed it was not anything serious.
“I wasn’t at 100 percent going into the game and picked up a slight knock, it is nothing serious.”
The Turkish international completed the highest number of successful dribbles in the game (5).
Frei also had an 87 percent pass accuracy and his defensive performance would have pleased Bilic. Frei completed two tackles and one interceptions throughout the match (Whoscored.com).
The young winger joined Beşiktaş from Fulham for £3 million last season.
The Turkish international has a total of four goals in 14 appearances this season.
