Kerim Frei reveals he had a 'good experience' at Fulham

Beşiktaş winger Kerim Frei has revealed that he enjoyed his time spent at Fulham Football Club.

“I liked the country very much and had a good experience at Fulham,” Frei told FitStop speaking on NTV Spor.

The Turkish international admitted it was difficult moving to abroad at such a young age and adapting to life in London but that is was all worth it.

“I moved to England aged 15, it was new, I went at a young age, I didn’t speak the language very well but it went well within two years I played in the Fulham first team,” he added.

The 20-year-old winger was first spotted by Swiss side Grasshoppers aged 13 and was snapped up by Fulham just three years later.

After rising through the youth ranks the Fulham starlet was given his Premier League debut on 10 December 2011, in an away match against Swansea City aged just 18.

Frei joined Beşiktaş on a €3.5 million move from Fulham last season and has established himself as a first-team player.

 

Beşiktaş have three Premier League academy players playing regular first-team football this season. 20-year-old Frei, 22-year-0ld Töre and former Arsenal player 21-year-old Oğuzhan Özyakup.
