Konyaspor manager Aykut Kocaman has praised his sides defensive record in the Süper Lig this season.

“We have kept 12 clean sheets this season, it is fair to say our defence has kept the team on its feet this season,” Kocaman told DHA.

The Anatolian Eagles have kept 12 clean sheets in the league this season and only conceded 32 goals.

Kocaman did however, underlined that his side must improve their attack if they want to keep moving up the league table.

“We need to do better upfront, we have not been scoring enough goals,” he added.

Konyaspor have scored the fewest goals in the league this season.

The Eagles have only hit the back of the net 22 times in 26 Süper Lig games, even last placed Balıkesirspor have scored nine more goals.

Kocaman’s side are currently 10th in the Süper Lig and will take on league high flyers Trabzonspor after the international break.

The experienced coach previously won the 2010-11 Süper Lig title as manager of Fenerbahçe.

Kocaman has also won two Turkish Cup trophies and reached the semi-finals of the 2012-13 Europa League.
