Kolo Toure on Emre Can: ‘He can score goals, his work-rate is amazing and there is no better player’

Liverpool’s experienced defender Kolo Toure has been impressed with with Emre Can’s versatility since joining from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
“He can score goals, his work-rate is amazing and there is no better player,” Toure was quoted as saying in the Mirror.
“He’s young, but he’s a top player. He has been playing outstandingly at the back and in midfield, he’s a very strong player. We like him here.
“He’s from Germany and German players are really good. I’m not surprised by how well he’s doing. They learn football and they are really intelligent, tactically outstanding and really strong.”

Can joined Liverpool on a £9.75 million move from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer as a central midfielder but has been playing as a defender for much of the season.
The 21-year-old has started the Reds last nine games in defence. Can has one goal and one assist in 29 appearances in all competitions this season for Liverpool.
The Reds are currently fifth in the Premier League just two points off a top four spot.
