Fenerbahçe winger Dirk Kuyt believes that Liverpool are favourites to make it through the Europa League Round of 32 against Beşiktaş.

The Reds will take on Beşiktaş at the Atatürk Olympic stadium carrying a 1-0 advantage from the first leg.

“So they are very positive about the game, but in my opinion, Liverpool are favourites,” Kuyt told the official Liverpool website.

The former Liverpool winger did underlined that the Reds will be missing a number of key players and that Beşiktaş will play a more attacking style compare to the first leg.

Kuyt revealed that this could play into Liverpool’s hands.

“Of course, Liverpool have some injured players so they will probably have a young team on the pitch,” he added.

“I think Besiktas will attack a lot, especially with their left and right wing-backs, so on the counter-attack there will be lots of space and I expect Liverpool to get some chances in these situations. They have a great chance [to win].”

Kuyt scored 71 goals in 285 matches for Liverpool and reached the final of the 2006-07 Champions League with the Reds.

The 34-year-old joined Fenerbahçe from Liverpool in 2012 for €1 million.

The former Netherlands international has a total of 34 goals and 27 assists in 115 appearances for Fenerbahçe in all competitions.
