Can started for the ninth consecutive Liverpool game in the 2-0 Premier League win against West Ham on the weekend.

Liverpool have not lost in their last six Premiership games with Can playing in defence and have only been defeated once over the last 10 games.

The Reds lost 1-0 against Chelsea in the Captial One Cup. Can was controversially stamped on by Diego Costa during the game. The Blues striker was given a three-match ban for the incident.

The 21-year-old midfielder has now made a total of 19 appearances for Liverpool in all competitions this season.

Captain Steven Gerrard will make his 700th Liverpool start this evening.
