Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has praised Emre Can following his performance during the Red’s 3-0 win over Manchester City.
The 22-year-old was deployed as a defensive midfielder as part of a midfield trio.
“Emre Can’s second game in that role was really good, Hendo’s reaction was great and Milly should always play against Manchester City,” Klopp was quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.
Liverpool got revenge on City following their League Cup final defeat on penalties over the weekend.
Can received a rating of 8.4 from WhoScored with the Germany international making seven tackles and four interceptions in midfield. Can also happened to make more successful dribbles going forwards than any other player (2).
Last night’s victory saw Liverpool move into eight place on 41 points. The Red’s take on Crystal Palace in their next Premier league fixture.
Can has one provided assist and two goals in 39 appearances for Liverpool this season.
