Liverpool boss Klopp refuses to rule Emre Can return

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has refused to rule out Emre Can returning to first team football this season.

The German manager believes his injured stars can return to full fitness ahead of schedule.

“I am long enough in this to know we are all different, all individuals so we don’t have to make any general thing.

“We only have to work with him and see what will happen. It is the same with Emre Can.

“We are all individuals. A long time ago I had an ACL and I played after four months. No-one could believe it worked but I never had a problem.

“Why should we say now the season is over when we still believe there can be a few games?”

Can has been ruled out for at least a month following the ankle injury he sustained during Liverpool’s win over Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League.

The 22-year-old was a major part of Klopp’s starting line-up. Can had cemented a place in Liverpool’s first eleven prior to his injury.

Liverpool take on relegation battlers Newcastle United this weekend in the Premier League.
