Liverpool captain Seven Gerrard will miss the first leg of the Europa League tie against Besiktas.
The 34-year-old midfielder suffered an injury in Liverpool’s Premier League win over Tottenham Hotspur. Gerrard was forced to come off the field in the 68th minute of the game due to a tight hamstring.
The former England international captain could be out for up to three weeks. Gerrard will miss the FA Cup fifth-round tie at Crystal Palace, the Europa League first leg with Besiktas and the Premier League trip to Southampton on Sunday week.
Gerrard could also miss the Europa League second leg against Besiktas if he isn’t ready in three weeks.
Beşiktaş take on Liverpool at Anfield on 19 February for the first leg. The second leg will be played a week later on 26 February.
Gerrard has scored 10 goals in 33 appearances for Liverpool this season.
