Beşiktaş president Fikret Orman stated that Liverpool do not want Lucas Leiva to leave in his latest press conference.

Leiva reportedly agreed terms with the Black Eagles according to football agent Ahmet Bulut but it now seems the Brazilian midfielder could be staying at Anfield.

Orman was quoted by FutbolArena as saying: “Liverpool to not want him to go, the transfer can only go ahead with their say so there is nothing we can do right now.”

Beşiktaş are desperate to sign a central midfielder after Tolgay Arslan and Veli Kavlak were ruled out with injury until the turn of the year.

The Black Eagles were also linked with Gökhan İnler before he joined Leicester City and Chelsea midfielder Mikel is on the radar of the Istanbul giants.

Liverpool have recalled Leiva to the team following injury to captain Jordan Henderson. The experienced midfielder made his first start of the season in the goalless draw against Arsenal at the Emirates.

The Brazilian midfielder will be given another chance to fight for his place in the Liverpool team.
