Liverpool' Emre Can to learn extent of injury

Emre Can, Liverpool

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is going to learn the extent of his injury this weekend.

The 22-year-old suffered an ankle injury during Liverpool’s memorable 4-3 win over Borussia Dortmund earlier this week.

Can had a scan on his ankle on Friday and is expected to find out the results by the end of the week.

“We will have to see what the scan shows,” Can was quoted as saying by SkySports.

“I twisted my ankle. I hope it’s not too bad but it’s too early to say.”

Can played a starring role in his sides incredible comeback against German giants Borussia Dortmund in the Europa League quarter-final second-leg tie.

The Germany international provided the assist for Origi that kick started the Reds into action just after the half time break and won an impressive five tackles against Dortmund – the highest figure in the game.

Liverpool will take on La Liga outfit Villarreal in the semi-final of the Europa League after they eliminated Sparta Prague from the tournament.
