Emre Can has become a fan favourite among Liverpool fans according to the Reds head coach Brendan Rodgers.
The Liverpool manager also praised the young midfielder for his work rate and willingness to get involved with the dirty work.
“You can see from the response of the crowd that they love him. He does the dirty work as well. He doesn’t just play and look nice, he presses the ball and is aggressive,” Rodgers told Liverpool Echo.
Can interacts closely with his fans on social media and has 245,000 Instagram followers.
The 21-year-old joined Liverpool on a £9.75 million move from Bundesliga outfit Bayer Leverkusen in the summer.
Can has started in the Reds last nine games in defence. Liverpool have not lost a game in which the 21-year-old has started in the back-three this season.
The former Bayer player started in the Reds 2-0 win against Burnley yesterday and was received a Man of the Match rating from Whoscored.
Can has one goal and one assist in 28 appearances in all competitions this season for Liverpool.
