Liverpool forward delighted to have joined Fenerbahce

Liverpool forward Lazar Markovic revealed that he is delighted to have joined Fenerbahçe on loan.

Markovic was quoted by NTV Spor as saying: “It is great to be here, I have heard so much about the fans and the great support I just cannot wait to play.”

The 20-year-old forward has become the 11th signing the Yellow Canaries this summer.

Markovic joined the Reds on a £20 million transfer from Benfica last season and still has another four-years left remaining on his contract with the Premier League giants.

The Serbian international is likely to be guaranteed more playing time at the Istanbul giants following the sale of striker Moussa Sow to UAE side Al Ahli for a club record £15 million.

Markovic will not be the only firmer Premier League player at the club as Manchester United duo Robin van Persie and Luis Nani also joined over the transfer window. Raul Meireles also played for his former club Liverpool.

The Yellow Canaries take on newly promoted high-flyers Antalyaspor next in the Turkish Super league.
