Liverpool defender Kolo Toure has urged his teammates to forget about the Europa League Round of 32 loss against Beşiktaş and focus on the Premier League.
The Reds face a tough game against second placed Manchester City next.
“We just need to forget about tonight, learn from the defeat, and be ready for the Manchester City game on Sunday,” Toure was quoted as saying on the official UEFA website.
Liverpool bowed out of the Europa League after losing against Beşiktaş on penalties.
The Reds won the first-leg 1-0 at Anfield thanks to a Mario Balotelli penalty.
Beşiktaş managed to take the tie to penalties after Tolgay Arslan’s superb strike gave the Black Eagles a 1-0 lead at the end of regulation time in the second leg.
The Reds will have to finish the Premier League in the top four if they want Champions League football.
Liverpool are currently 6th in the league table just two points off a top four spot. City are currently second and 10 points ahead of the Reds.
