The former Liverpool player Steve Nicol has stated that Emre Can has been Brandan Rodgers only good signing this season.

Nicol commented on Emre Can while on the ESPN FC tv show.

“Of all the signings Liverpool have got, two have played regularly, Can and Moreno,” Nicol told ESPN FC.

“Moreno has been average, Can has been pretty good”

Nicol has previously been critical of Can, blaming the 21-year-old for Liverpool’s defeat against Chelsea in the first leg of the Capital One Cup semi final and stating that the Germany U21 international could not play in defence.

“Can on the ball is good, but he is not a defender. He is not a good one on one defender and we saw that on goal,” Nicol stated on the ESPN FC tv show.

“Had he not made the mess for the penalty kick Liverpool wins the game, but instead he cost Liverpool the game.”
