Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard says he would have loved to play alongside Arsenal's Mesut Ozil

The former Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has stated that he would have ‘loved’ to play alongside Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil.

The LA Galaxy player commented on Ozil while doing punditry for BT Sport on Wednesday evening.

“He’s a striker’s dream. I certainly would have loved to play with a player like him,” Gerrard stated live on BT Sport.

“His assist statistics are frightening and they are certainly going to need his quality tonight.”

The Gunners needed to win by two goals going into the game and ended up winning by three.

The 27-year-old played a key role in the Gunner’s first goal by providing the pass which unlocked the Greek champions defence allowing Ramsey to provide the assist for Giroud.

Ozil has been in great form for the Gunners providing 12 assists in 13 league games which is currently the best record in Europe’s top five leagues – England, Germany, France, Spain and Italy.
