Liverpool midfielder Emre Can set to retain place in starting XI

Liverpool news: Emre Can Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can is one of the only outfield players to retain his place in the starting line-up when the Red’s take of Bordeaux in the Europa League tonight.

The Liverpool Echo states that Brendan Rodgers is set to make major changes to his starting eleven.

The Liverpool based paper goes onto say that Can and Joe Gomez will retain their place while Divock Origi could be given a chance to prove himself.

The Reds take on Ligue 1 side Bordeaux in their opening Europa League group stage game of the season.

Liverpool reached the Europa League Round of 32 last season and while Can did feature in the campaign he was deployed as a defender in Brendan Rodgers back-three.

Can has made five appearances in the Premier League for the Reds this season and started in the 3-1 defeat against rivals Manchester United on the weekend.
