Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva has accepted a €2.5 million per-season deal from Galatasaray according to Turkish sports newspaper Fanatik.

Per the source, the Lions have offered Liverpool €3 million for the transfer and have reached an agreement in principle with Lucas.

The Brazilian midfielder is however, currently out injured. The Liverpool Echo newspaper states that Lucas is set to miss approximately a month of football which would rule him out for the start of the Premier League season if he were to stay.

Lucas has had bad luck with injuries recently but his latest blow is not reported to have put off the Turkish giants from signing him.

Galatasaray will not be able to play Champions League football next season due to serving a FIFA transfer ban for failing to meet FFP regulations.

If Lucas were to leave it would end a nine year association with the Premier League giants.
