Liverpool star admits he needs to play "quicker & stronger"

Emre Can, Liverpool

Emre Can has admitted that he needs to further adapt his game if he is to succeed at Liverpool.

The 22-year-old stated that he is still trying to grasp the pace of the Premier League but knows where he must improve.

“English football is so quick and you always have a player behind and have to always be 100 per cent concentrated,” Can told Liverpool’s official website.

“The players are very strong [but] I like the football here.

“I have to change some things. For example, I have to play quicker and be a little stronger than before.”

Can was ruled out of Liverpool’s 4-1 win over Stoke City on Sunday. The 22-year-old picked up a two game suspension during the Red’s 1-1 draw with Tottenham last weekend.

While the Germany international didn’t receive a red card, he has instead been suspended for two games after accumulating ten yellow cards this season.

Liverpool will also be without Can for next weekend’s clash with Bournemouth.

Can is expected to return to Jurgen Klopp’s starting line-up agaisnt the Bundesliga giants.
