Liverpool star Emre Can expects tough test Augsburg against

Philippe Coutinho Emre Can Liverpool team news

Liverpool midfielder Emre Can has stated that he expects a tough encounter with FC Augsburg in the Europa League.

The Red’s take on the Bundesliga side tonight at the WWK Arena.

“Regarding FC Augsburg, we all know that they are strong as a team,” Can told Bild.

“Jurgen Klopp and I have played against them often enough. They have not made it that far in the Europa League by sheer luck. “

Augsburg was founded over 100 years ago but did not play in the Bundesliga until 2011. This is the Bundesliga sides first season in European competition.

Can started in midfield and played an influential role in Liverpool’s 6-0 win over Aston Villa in the Premier League last week.

Liverpool moved into 8th place on 38 points following the victory while Aston Villa remain cemented to the bottom of the table.

The 22-year-old is expected to keep his place in Klopp’s starting line up for tonights game.

Can has provided one assist and scored two goals in 32 appearances for Liverpool this season.
