Liverpool star Emre Can set to star in first Germany game following Paris attacks

Liverpool star Emre Can is set to feature in the international game between Germany and rivals the Netherlands today.

Can will play his first game since the Paris attacks should he make an appearance today. Germany were playing France in the Stade de Paris when the attacks unfolded last week and ended up losing the game 2-1.

The 21-year-old featured as a defender as he has done his entire senior international career for Germany.

Can is one of two ethnic Turks in the current Germany national team squad with the other being Borussia Dortmund midfielder İlkay Gündoğan.

Germany have already booked a place in the European Championships this summer however, Netherlands missed out after finishing their group in fourth place behind Turkey, Czech Republic and Iceland.
