Emre Can has  believes Liverpool’s latest signing Roberto Firmino will be a success at Anfield but states that patience is required as the Brazilian international adjusts to the demands of English football.

Firmino joined the Reds from Hoffenheim over the summer in a £29million deal has had a slow start to his Liverpool career.

The 24-year-old is yet to score for Liverpool since joining in the summer and has only one assist to his name.

“I know myself that it’s difficult when you pick up an injury after arriving at a new club. It’s the worst time because you’re trying to make a good impression,” Can was quoted as saying by the Liverpool Echo.

“It happened to me last season when I was on international duty and it took a few months to recover and get in the team.

“Firmino just needs time. People need to be patient with him then he can progress. It’s not easy to come into the English league, everything is quicker and more physical.

Emre Can received a rating of 6.89 from Whoscored for his performance during Liverpool’s win over Chelsea.

The 21-year-old made two tackles, two interceptions and one clearance. Can also made two key passes and maintained a passing accuracy of 84%.
