Emre Can is expected to miss Liverpool’s pre-season tour due to his international commitments with the Germany national team.
The 22-year-old is part of German side which has booked a spot in the the semi-finals of Euro 2016 where they will take on the hosts France.
Can is yet to make an appearance at Euro 2016 and has been an unused substitute in all five of Germany’s games. However, with Sami Khedira ruled out and Bastian Schweinsteiger struggling for fitness, the Liverpool star may be in contention to start for Joachim Low’s side.
It has become increasingly unlikely that Can will be involved in Liverpool’s pre-season tour of America this summer.
Can is one of eight Germany born ethnic Turks in the tournament. Mesut Ozil is the other Germany international of Turkish origin while Turkey has six Germany born players.
