Liverpool team news: Jurgen Klopp given boost as star player returns to training ahead of Derby clash

Liverpool FC have recorded best Premier League start since 2008/09 season after beating Chelsea 2-1 at Stamford Bridge.

The Reds are currently 6th in the league table, five points behind leaders Manchester City and have already beat the likes of Arsenal and Leicester City.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp was handed another boost following the game as Emre Can returned to full team training as did Mamadou Sakho ahead of the Derby County, League Cup clash.

Can had recovered from injury ahead of the Chelsea clash but clop decided to rest the Germany international of Turkish origin.

Klopp may however, decide to leave Can out of the Derby County game considering he picked up his last injury in the same competition against Burton Albion last month.

In other Liverpool team news Daniel Sturridge and Firmino did not feature in Sunday’s training session – although Sturridge is on a tailored regime so his absence was not a surprise.

Summer signing Gini Wijnaldum was not pictured in training either but Ragnar Klavan was spotted.

The Reds will take on Hull City after Derby in their next Premier League game at Anfield.
