Liverpool to keep Besiktas target following injury to Jordan Henderson

Lucas Leiva

Liverpool are planning to keep Lucas Leiva at the Merseyside club following an injury to Jordan Henderson according to the Mirror.

The daily newspaper goes onto state that Lucas could even feature in tonights clash with Arsenal despite being left out of Liverpool’s match day squad for the past two games.

The Red’s boss Brendan Rodgers stated that Lucas had come “into contention” for the Arsenal clash in the likely absence of Henderson.

Besiktas have made a loan offer for Liverpool midfielder Lucas Leiva according to NTV Spor.

The Black Eagles are in need of a central midfielder following injuries to Veli Kavlak and Tolgay Arslan. Both players have been ruled out until the turn of the year due to injury.

Leiva has struggled for playing time after a series of injuries but has failed to regain his place in the team after recovering. The experienced midfielder has yet to start for Liverpool this season.

The Reds take on Arsenal at the Emirates stadium on tonight at 20:00. Liverpool have won their two opening game of the season against Stoke City and Bouremouth.
