Liverpool winger slams Turkish press

On-loan Liverpool winger Lazar Markovic slammed sections of the Turkish press for claiming he was a traitor after dining with a few players from Istanbul rivals Besiktas.

Markovic attended a meal with Besiktas players after the Black Eagles won the league title. Fenerbahce lost out in the title race so some fans felt his actions were insensitive but Markovic stated that he was just out for a meal with his friends.

After all Tosic is also a Serbian international like Markovic and he is well within his rights to have a meal with his national team compatriot and after all he was also with his family.

Markovic was filmed on his way to the meal.

Markovic replied via Twitter calling that the reports that he had offended Fenerbahce as being a work as being akin to the excrete of a bull.

Followed by a short and simple cheers.

Markovic will return to Liverpool at the end of the season after struggling for playing time due to recurring injuries.

The Serbian international did manage to score twice and provided three assists in 20 games for the Canaries.
