Despite only arriving in the summer and being 21-years-old, Emre Can has been touted as a possible replacement as club captain when Steven Gerrard leaves in the summer to join the MLS side LA Galaxy.

When asked about his leadership qualities on the field Can stated that they come naturally to him.

“I am only 21 but I am the type of player that talks on the pitch. That’s the way I am and I have always been like that,” Can said in an interview with Liverpool FC’s official website.

“I can’t see myself changing; I think it’s just my way that pushes me into taking on a leadership role on the pitch.”
