Emre Can has played down comparisons between himself and Michael Ballack or Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The 21-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the Germany national team.

Can has been called up to the Germany U21 national team to face Italy (27/03/2015) and England (30/03/2015).

“I’m a completely different type of player than Ballack or Schweinsteiger. I admire them for their career and I’d hope to have a career like them one day,” Emre Can told the Liverpool Echo.

“But I want to make my own way, and prove my own game and build myself as being known as Emre Can rather than as another Ballack or Sweinsteiger.”
