Liverpool star Emre Can has moved up the pecking order in the Red’s midfield following an unfortunate injury to Joe Allen.

The Wales international has been ruled out for a month after suffering damage to his hamstring according to the BBC.

Liverpool boss Brenden Rodgers is expected to play a three man midfield with Jordan Henderson assured a place having being given the club captaincy.

Can is expected to move into midfield this season following the signing of Nathaniel Clyne from Southampton earlier this Summer.

The former Bayer Leverkusen man is coming off the back of an impressive display playing in midfield for the Germany U-21 side in the 2015 U-21 European Championships.

Can made a total of 27 appearances for Liverpool last season and also featured in the FA Cup and Europa League.

Liverpool take on Stoke City in the opening game of the 2015-16 season on Sunday.
