Liverpool have recalled midfielder Lucas Leiva ahead of the Premier League clash against Arsenal at the Emirates stadium following injury to captain Jordan Henderson.

The Liverpool Echo report that Leiva has been recalled to the team due to Henderson pulling out of the squad with a foot injury.

Leiva will be given the chance to fight for his future with the Reds.

The experienced midfielder has been linked with a move abroad and Beşiktaş are reported to be in talks over a loan move according to football agent Ahmet Bulut.

Bulut – who also represents Arda Turan – recently stated that Lucas was keen on a move to Besiktas.

“The player is keen on a move to Turkey, in my opinion the move is close to completion,” Bulut told Radyospor.

The Black Eagles are in the transfer market for a central-midfielder due to Tolgay Arslan and Veli Kavlak being ruled out with injury until the turn of the year.

Juventus and Inter Milan are also reported to be interested in Leiva according to Eurosport.
