Luis Nani reacts to winning Champions League with Man Utd

Fenerbahce star Luis Nani had an interview with UEFA revealing all about his time at Manchester United.

Nani was asked about the 2007/08 UEFA Champions League final when he came off the bench to score in the penalty shoot-out against Chelsea to win the clash.

The Portuguese international said: “When you are on the bench you dream [about getting] on the pitch because it’s a final – it’s the biggest moment. And then I had this opportunity. I came on in extra time and then scored a penalty, and I’m so happy to know I was part of that success and that story of a big club.”

Nani stated that lifting the trophy was a great experience and underlined the importance of taking opportunities presented.

“It was a great experience. It shows kids that they have to prepare for when they don’t play, because in one day, in one game, in five minutes, your life can change,” he added.

Nani won four Premier League titles, the Champions League and the World Club Cup during his time at Manchester United.

The Portuguese international spent last season on-loan at Sporting Lisbon before joining Fenerbahce on a three-year deal over the summer transfer window.

Nani has hit the ground running at Fenerbahce scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists in all competitions for the Yellow Canaries this season.

The 29-year-old winger is currently rated the second best performing – statistically – player in the Turkish Super League according to Whoscored.
