Lyon join West Ham & Southampton in the race to sign Dirk Kuyt

Lyon have joined Southampton, West Ham, Sunderland, Valencia and Feyenoord in the race to sign Fenerbahce’s Netherlands international forward Dirk Kuyt, according to  a report in the Turkish newspaper Milliyet.

Ligue 1 leaders Lyon’s manager Hubert Fournier wants to increase his attacking options this month. However, with finances tight at Lyon, Fournier is having to think creatively.

Dirk Kuyt confirmed last week that he has received bids from clubs within and outside Europe.

“Yes I have received. offers from both within and outside Europe,” Kuyt told Eurosport TR.

The hard working forward’s contract with Fenerbahce runs out at the end of the season.

The former Netherlands international joined Fenerbahce from Liverpool in 2012 for €1 million.

Kuyt scored 71 times in 285 matches for the Reds and 24 goals in 104 international appearances for the Netherlands.

The 34-year-old now has four goals and two assists in all competitions this season.
