Man City without star signing going into Sunderland clash

Manchester City kick off their Premier League campaign against Sunderland but the Citizens face a number of injury problems going into the clash.

City will be without summer signing Ilkay Gundogan who is out injured with a knee injury. Fellow summer arrival Leroy Sane is also out with a hamstring problem.

Gundogan has yet to feature for City after missing the pre-season tour due to injury. The Germany international of Turkish origin is expected to return to action at the end of the month.

Nolito and Zinchenko are however, fit and both could make their debut against the Black Cats.

There are now a total of four ethnic Turks born in Germany in the Premier League – Liverpool midfielder Emre Can, West Ham loanee Gokhan Tore as well as Arsenal star Mesut Ozil and Gundogan.
