Hakan Çalhanoğlu was unable to prevent Bayer Leverkusen’s surprise 2-1 loss at the hands of Wolfsburg over the weekend in the Bundesliga.

The 21-year-old received a rating of 6.71 from WhoScored for his performance. Çalhanoğlu made three key passes, took one shot on target and was taken off after 71 minutes.

The Free-kick specialist maintained a passing accuracy of just 64% which was the worst in Leverkusen’s midfield.

Bild report that United are keeping close tabs on Çalhanoğlu and sent scouts to his recent Champions League clash against Roma.

TalkSport have also closely linked Arsenal with the 21-year-old Çalhanoğlu.

Bayer have made it clear that they want to keep hold of the Turkish international who still has another four-years left on his contract but that they would be willing to listen to an offer of £28.9 million.

The highly rated 21-year-old has already scored six goals and provided four assists in all competitions this season. The Bayer play-maker star also has a phenomenal free-kick scoring record – 22 in the Bundesliga alone.
