Every online bookmaker offering betting options on Gündoğan’s future now has United as the favourite to complete the signing of the 24-year-old. Unibet is the only bookmaker to have Bayern Munich as joint favourites alongside the Red Devils to clinch the deal.
Gündoğan recently denied rumours claiming that he underwent a medical with Barcelona.
The 24-year-old reportedly passed a medical with Barcelona according to Mundo Deportivo last month.
Gündoğan took to Facebook to deny the rumours, his statement read: “In recent weeks, I, like you, read again and again that where I was signing was already agreed. Today I am in contract negotiations here, tomorrow I’m having a medical check there.
Bayern Munich were also closely linked with Gündoğan but are reported to have pulled out of the race due to unrealistic wage demands.
The Dortmund midfielder will leave the club in the summer and revealed on Facebook that he will make a decision regarding his future after Germany’s Euro 2016 qualification game against Gibraltar.
The statement read: “I’m not gambling financially or using delaying tactics. I will reveal my decision regarding my future as soon as possible.
“However, only after the season has ended and our important game for the European Championship qualifier with the national team will I decide.”
