Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has consulted West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic to ask about the Turkey international Oguzhan Ozyakup.

According to the Turkish newspaper Fanatik, the Portuguese tactician received a positive report on Ozyakup from Bilic which may lead to United tabling a bid for the 23-year-old.

Bilic managed Ozyakup during his two year spell at Besiktas and tried to sign him for the Hammers earlier this summer.

The Daily Star report that United are considering a move for the 23-year-old midfielder and that the Premier League giants would have to spend £16.8 million to prize him away from Besiktas.

Ozyakup is no stranger to English football after making a name for himself rising through Arsenal’s youth ranks. The 23-year-old left after making just one League Cup performance and joined Besiktas in 2012 in pursuit of first team football.

The Turkish international scored 10 times and provided eight assists in all competitions playing a key role in the Istanbul giants title winning side last season. Ozyakup was also included in Fatih Terim’s national team squad which competed at Euro 2016 earlier this summer.
