Man Utd boss Louis van Gaal texted star striker good luck at his new club

Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal stated that he sent a text message to Robin Van Persie wishing good luck following his move to Fenerbahçe.

Van Persie joined Fenerbahçe on a three-year deal in-fron of 15,000 fans at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium on Tuesday.

The deal will earn Van Persie a minimum of €4.9 million per-season and bonuses of €20,000 per-match.

“I think Robin will like it, to be in that warm club,” Van Gaal was quoted as saying by the Independent.

“I wish him all the best and I have also texted that to him.”

The 31-year-old striker was reported to have had a rift with Van Gaal leading to his United exit but Van Persie denied having any problems with his former boss at his signing ceremony press-conference.

Van Persie became the second United player to join Fenerbahçe last week following the arrival of Luis Nani on a three-year deal.

The Yellow Canaries have now made a total of eight transfer this season and parted ways with a further nine players in total.
